Cleo De Laet studied Engineering Architecture at the University of Ghent in Belgium. Before creating her own label, she worked at fashion and design studios Henrik Vibskov, Jac Studios and Mater.
When she was 12 years old and started to take sewing classes from her grandmother, Cleo found herself uninspired by the designs available at small sewing boutiques. As she wanted to create dreamy and playful garments, she created her own designs. 14 years later, she started her own brand to cross the bridge between high-end and home-made fashion by offering both finished garments and sewing kits. This way, her sculptural, high-quality designs become available to many more people. It is a way to open up high-end fashion to a broader audience, without reducing its quality.
